Mermaid Ice Sculpture: This was created by a team of ice carvers for the First Night Boston, 2001, event. The design was developed by Justin who utilized the individual talents of all the carvers. We used over 160 blocks of ice weighing 330 pounds each and it took 5 carvers four days to complete using a fork lift to assemble the blocks to 10 feet high for the Mermaid and 8 feet high for the coral towers.
